Become A Nature Link

What is a Nature Link?

A Nature Link is a community member who helps others discover local nature-based opportunities for wellbeing. The role is simple: signpost, encourage, and share resources—without giving advice or ongoing support.

Why It Matters

Spending time in nature improves mental and physical wellbeing. Nature Links help:

  • People reduce stress, improve mood, and connect socially.

  • People feel good by helping others and strengthening community ties.

  • Community by building healthier, more connected neighbourhoods.

Role Boundaries

Do:

  • Share information about local parks, walking groups, and nature activities.

  • Encourage people to explore nature for wellbeing.

  • Use official directories or leaflets for signposting.

Don't:

  • Give personal advice or act as a therapist.

  • Share your personal contact details.

  • Promise follow-up or ongoing support.

How To Signpost
  • Listen briefly and acknowledge interest in nature.

  • Suggest a local nature activity or space.

  • Provide a leaflet or link to the website directory.

  • Encourage them to take the first step themselves.

As a Nature Link, you'll have the chance to join our Green & Blue Wellbeing Networka growing community of organisations, local initiatives, and passionate groups all committed to opening up the power of nature to those who need it most.

Together, we explore how to make nature accessible for everyone: the people who don't yet know where to start, who haven't had the chance or who simply need a helping hand to connect with the outdoors. By joining us, you're not just attending meetings—you're becoming a part of a movement.

And your perspective could help shape how our city supports wellbeing through nature for years to come.

We'd love for you to be a key voice in this inspiring network and a champion for your community.
